Empowering Youth: A Day of Learning and Inspiration

On this memorable day, we witnessed the power of knowledge, leadership, and community coming together as 23 enthusiastic youths from different villages gathered at St. Mathew Church in Kadambattur for a day of capacity building training.

Our journey began under the guidance of the venerable Fr. Sarathi SJ, who masterfully used meaningful videos to explore the concept of self-empowerment. He delved into the challenges young individuals face today, including various addictions, and beautifully conveyed the importance of recognizing one’s goals and understanding the uniqueness that each person possesses. The seeds of self-belief were sown, inspiring these young minds to reach for the stars.

The baton of inspiration was then passed to Sch Joe Marsh, who led a session on leadership. Through creative games and engaging activities, he not only taught the principles of effective leadership but also ignited a spark of enthusiasm within our youth. Their energy was palpable as they embraced the idea that they too could be leaders in their communities. As the day unfolded, our young participants shared their life experiences, revealing the obstacles hindering their dreams. Many spoke of their parents’ inability to send them to school regularly due to economic hardships. These heartfelt stories reminded us of the immense potential these youths possess, despite the challenges they face.

With the clock ticking, the training concluded at 2:30 pm, leaving our participants with a newfound sense of purpose and self-confidence. A group photo captured the smiles of our motivated youth, a testament to the transformative power of such gatherings. The day continued with a delicious lunch, fostering a sense of togetherness among the attendees. Nourished both physically and mentally, the youth embarked on their journeys back to their respective villages, armed with newfound knowledge and motivation.
